Waaa? The Incas of Peru didn’t have any pathogens worth the mention, but they were among the most collectivist civilisation of all time. Especially given their technology.

A single exception does not invalidate a correlation. I did now know that the Inca were significantly more collectivist than average though. They did accomplish quite a lot without a written language.
