Video here. Also watch the police officer after him. Remember that Martha Stewart never actually got convicted of the crime she was being investigated for, just for lying by claiming she was innocent.

I’m in middle of watching the video now and thank for it. As one with no natural respect for the word “law” I’ve often wondered what I ought to do if approached by a police officer and while I’ve long been aware of my right to remain silent I’ve also long been concerned that that pissing off a – human – police officer by appearing above his authority, disrespectful and/or of guilty conscience (by refusing to speak) could arouse his interest in seeing what he could do to get you arrested rather than allaying his concerns and/or arousing his empathy and therefore letting you go. Thus far (I’m only 7 minutes in) the video is reinforcing my courage for silence but hasn’t offered me any new info on my practical question.
By the way, if you’ve ever driven the kind of run-down car that looks like it might belong to a gang-banger you gain a spelling education in civics: P-I-G-S spells ‘police’. I mean sure, they’ll leave you unhandcuffed when they realize that you’re white, but you’ll still be stuck for whatever bullshit traffic violation they tracked you for an hour in order to find so that they could pull you over.
By the way, I just left a comment (that Steve may or may not post) on Sailer, responding to your brief description of Libertarians in a comment there. I’m rather surprised that you would consider yourself to be among the Cheerleaders For The Money-Empowered “Libertarians” of the blogosphere. You should really know better than to take today’s radical capitalists as the true representatives of people interested in individual freedom from the influence, power and harassment of others. I mean, seriously, this isn’t a very difficult concept to grasp.

Being an expert in the internets I’ve managed to locate the police guy’s video despite your malicious refusal to link to it. I’m only two minutes in but he just mentioned the “I can pull anyone over for breaking a law” thingee, which is exactly what I mentioned a moment ago with regards to being the proprietor of a shitty car. By LORD is this true. The police are the gestapo arm of the wealthy, in the full service of said wealthy, with the water-clear aim of preserving the happiness of the wealthy through whatever harassment of the poor is required… or not required, let god sort them out.
My views regarding racial matters are similar to what one might call “race realistic” (based on the limited knowledge that I have of racial matters) but, while I believe it awesomely likely that many African tribes are, on average, less likely to succeed at capitalism than are Ashkenazi Jews (on average) I believe it likely that many of their subsequent problems arise from outgrowths of this original sin. Less capitalistically able leads to poverty (relative to your neighbors… and the advertising bullshit put out by those who have something to sell) which leads to… much else. Including unfair harassment by your Friendly Neighborhood Policeman (who, as they’ll all tell you, are just doing “what it takes to get home to my family at night”).
By the way, Sailer is holding my aforementioned comment at this time so I’ll include it below.
Cheers,
Your Friendly Neighborhood Mnuez

I hate Libertarians. They’re just smart enough to know that the MSM is pablum but not smart enough to understand what (true) Libertarianism means beyond some painted-face throaty yell of “Freedom!” It’s nice that they can read but beyond that they’re mostly idiots.
TGetc claims that Libertarians (of which, surprisingly, he considers himself one) are internet-numerous but otherwise irrelevant. That’s because he’s honest and a rather literal thinker. TGetc knows that true Libertarian philosophies are almost entirely ignored by the powers that be and he therefore feels it fair to call his tribe “irrelevant”. Steve however is a bit closer to the score on this one. Libertarians (in their modern testosterone-heavy hooked-on-phonics incarnation) are a bunch of youthful idiots and a few really really REALLY rich guys. The youthful bloggers are useful idiots but it’s the rich guys and their Caplan/Hanson cocksucking economist slavish ones who pull all the strings and who have succeeded (beyond measures that anyone could have guessed in the 40s, 50s, 60s or 70s) in getting precisely what they want: Almost limitless economic power for the moneyed elite.
Not long ago billionaires were despised and had to hide their wealth and apologize for it (never mind not publicly calling for the importation of cheap labor and the right to trick elderly people out of their savings) but those days are long gone.
“Libertarianism” today is nothing but a useful word used to create a false front of “Freedom Loving Blue Blooded Americans” manned by enthusiastic youths with overcompensating bravado and precious diction. This false front looks mighty enticing in it’s call for devotees… so long as you don’t peek behind the curtain at the practically anonymous multi-millionaires and billionaires who control the world within which we live far far more than our government ever did or ever could. By God, who the fuck do you think makes our government the way it is? Do you fancy that the popular will of “Democracy” has left us with two open-border lackluster candidates who are more or less okay with gay marriage, endless advertising and the continued dumbing (and cookie-cutting) of the American mind?
As for race, the “Libertarian” establishment (in quotes because I have my own, different, understanding of the word) needs to be race blind in order to continue to claim that rich people are deservant of their wealth and that the only reason why they’re better off than you (or Latasha Johnson) is because they “worked harder” or “innovated” or “provided excellent service to millions of citizens”. There but for the grace of Satan, go you – and Latasha Johnson.
Y’see if genetics were anything other than a nonsense term then perhaps the lucky-rich ought to provide some life-saving drugs to those lesser folk who have yet to be eugenicized; being though how really all it takes is “excellent service”, “innovation” and “hard work”… go make your own god damn billions.
The people who control the Libertarian movement have gotten everything that they desire and what passes for the “libertarian movement” today is a farce designed to put a pleasing face to the true enslavers of us all (and if you work at a day job some half of your waking hours you’re among the enslaved, whether you notice that blindingly obvious fact or not).

Jeez, police dude just fuckin perjured himself within the space of half an hour. While he earlier said that a questioning never had him let a person go because the fellow convinced him of his innocence, he just said that he had let people go because he [became convinced] of their innocence. If THIS motherfucker in THIS setting can’t help from contradicting himself, I gotta agree with the profe that the rest of us have no hope at all of doing so.

I’m rather surprised
Then you haven’t been paying attention, I’ve described myself as a libertarian at numerous other fora I’ve encountered you at.
despite your malicious refusal to link to it
I had one link in this post, which led to another blog. The blog post I linked to also links to the policeman’s talk.
poverty […] which leads to… much else
No, poverty itself does not lead to much of that. Look at Asian immigrants who come here poor.
it’s the rich guys and their Caplan/Hanson cocksucking economist slavish ones who pull all the strings
Which of Hanson’s or Caplan’s proposals have come to pass? Aren’t the REALLY REALLY richest guys in America Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, who advocate rather “progressive” policies?
Not long ago billionaires were despised and had to hide their wealth
I think you are talking out of your ass.
By God, who the fuck do you think makes our government the way it is?
The People. Fuck them up their stupid asses. Bryan Caplan’s book explains a lot of that.
As for race, the “Libertarian” establishment (in quotes because I have my own, different, understanding of the word) needs to be race blind in order to continue to claim that rich people are deservant of their wealth
Here is Caplan on desert. As a non-cognitivist Stirnerite, I don’t bother with the concept. Caplan is a race and IQ realist.
The people who control the Libertarian movement have gotten everything that they desire
The two biggest issues among the circle of libertarians I’m familiar with are the War on Drugs and worldwide American hegemony. Neither of those show any sign of going away. Any real libertarians wants to repeal the New Deal, but most of us don’t even bother talking about that anymore because it’s seen as more hopeless than the aforementioned two issues. Libertarians have absolutely and completely failed to halt the growth of the State. We have not dismantled one Federal Agency. Public opinion has come around to our side on gun control and affirmative action, but I don’t think much has changed legislatively.
While he earlier said that a questioning never had him let a person go because the fellow convinced him of his innocence, he just said that he had let people go because he [became convinced] of their innocence.
Not necessarily a lie. What convinced him may not have been what they told him but other facts he discovered. Police even become convinced of the innocence of people that confess to them sometimes.

Dude, it’s no crime to have Asperger’s, just realize that you aren’t going to get a lot of the jokes. The “malicious” note was one of those. Anyhow, I think there’s a lot of misunderstandings going on but that you would likely agree with much of my Libertarian-oriented points (if not necessarily my moral preferences) if we were to hammer it out in an IM or phone conversation. In any case, thanks for your blog here as well as for your comments elsewhere. You bring a hell of a lot of knowledge and worthwhile links to conversations that are often dominated by ignoramouses with faux-gangster bravado. (Of course those guys rarely understand what you’re trying to say but methinks the fault there is theirs.) Cheers mate,
mnuez

Humor/sarcasm is harder to get across via text. There isn’t any voice inflection to tip someone off.
