Kevin MacDonald has surfaced again with an interesting take on Peter Beinart’s pro-Israel article. MacDonald is warning white America to be on guard for hyper ethnocentric Orthodox Jews who are reproducing at a menacing rate.
I was hoping people would laugh at the link, but I resign myself to following off-topic commenters where they lead. I said elsewhere that Israel faces demographic problems due to the refusal of the ultra-Orthodox to pay their share of taxes & serve in the military (as well as their tendency to enforce orthopraxy on the non-frum through street violence). In part because of their much smaller proportion, I don’t think they could get away with that in the U.S. But since much of MacDonald’s problem with American Jews is their “progressive” political influence, perhaps he should welcome the shift.
I don’t know anything about you personally. The anti-semite I read most is n/a of the race/history/evolution notes blog, who is obsessed with the genetic purity of the Nordic stock and so should look favorably on a decrease in intermarriage. Going back to politics, ultra-orthodox jews seem more insular and less concerned with broad political movements (like the overseas Chinese?) on immigration or anti-racism and certainly not feminism! I’m not sure if Kevin is concerned with that last one, but I thought I recalled him complaining about Jewish responsibility for it. As for the ingroup-strategy, recall that selfish actors in non-zero-sum environments need not be a threat to one another.
