Relatedly, Anthony Gregory critiques Kevin Carson on Mitt Romney’s “corporations are people” comment, which was apparently meant to suggest that yes, corporations help people (workers, consumers), not a verbal nod of agreement with the Citizens United decision. I say relatedly because in the article he cites Carson’s reliance on some psychological research showing that rich people are dominating and selfish. I also referenced such literature in my article above. Gregory calls Carson’s charge “shaky pscyho-analysis” and similar to the polylogism deployed by Marx and criticized by Mises. I’d say it’s more akin to the Stanford prison experiments than a defense of the idea of class origin determining your consciousness.
